Educational Therapy

What is Educational Therapy?

Educational therapy is a form of therapy used to assist those with learning differences and difficulties. This can range anywhere from as young as pre-K to as old as high school and college.

With educational therapy support, students come to school feeling more equipped, confident, and engaged in their learning environments. Educational therapy can implement several types of support for students, including learning goals, practicing strategies to overcome challenges, and encouraging independence in work.

In more traditional tutoring settings, students usually receive homework support as well as reinforcement in grade-level content. Though the student may be in a certain grade, this does not necessarily mean they are at that level. Each student is unique, and oftentimes students may be above or below grade level in certain content areas. This is where educational therapy would make all the difference.

Educational therapy can benefit several types of learners. Students with specific learning disabilities (dyslexia, dyscalculia), attentional disabilities (ADD, ADHD), and those on the spectrum, all gain valuable resources and strategies to combat learning difficulties.

How We Transform Learning: Our Educational Therapy Process

At MiraculousMinds, we not only focus on our student’s academics, but on the student as a whole. With our individualized programs tailored to each student’s needs, they receive the support and attention they deserve to thrive. We have helped several of our students on executive functioning skills (time management, organization), leveled reading interventions, and cognitive strategies to boost self-sufficiency and growth mindset (the belief we can learn from mistakes instead of having them hinder us). Using these strategies, in addition to practices such as differentiated learning and appealing to various learning styles, can help your student develop the confidence and ability to succeed, in academics and beyond.
